I've come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint - and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.
Oprah Winfrey, O Magazine, September 2002
I found a new favorite quote, Lady “O” you rock! Since I started on my journey of transformation and spiritual enlightenment, I have been blessed to realize a couple of things; and since I’m so passionate about sharing what I learn, I decided to write a blog titled "What I've Come to Believe".
1. My Life Is So Much Bigger Than Me
This was kind of hard for me to grasp, because one of my favorite subjects to teach is “Self-Love”. How do I teach Self-Love and in the same speech teach “Your Life Is So Much Bigger Than You”. It sounds kind of contradicting right? But it’s not, there are steps we must take in this learning process and developing a love for self definitely comes first. I know we all heard the airplane analogy “Always put your oxygen mask on before trying to help someone else”. Well, the same analogy can be used for this scenario. You have to learn to love yourself, so you can teach those around you how to treat or love you. It’s through our actions of how we treat ourselves that others learn to treat us. So we must master the art of self-love before we venture outside of ourselves. It’s in the journey of getting to know yourself that you realize life is so much bigger than you and I. Like Oprah said “The best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service.
2. You Have To Learn To Silence The World To Be Successful
I believe if you can master this, you are on the road to being “Spectacular”. The less you care about what people think the more you’ll be able to achieve. This is coming from an Ex “Validationista” I know there’s no such word but neither is “Visionista” but that’s what I call myself. Learning to stay focused on your goals will definitely help you in this area. I realized it was in my boredom that I heard the voice of my inner child saying maybe you can’t do this or you're not good enough and it was also in my boredom that I heard the world’s chit chatter. You have to become so focused on being a better you that you don’t have time to see, hear or acknowledge what people say about you. You will also reach a level of understanding and come to realize what people think of you is none of your business and what someone says about you shows the depth of their character not yours.
“Boredom is the conviction that you can't change ... the shriek of unused capacities.”
― Saul Bellow, The Adventures of Augie Marc
3. Your Belief System Forms Your Reality
If you have a strong belief in something that’s exactly what you’ll attract. If you’re constantly thinking the world is against you, then it will. If you believe you have a right to success than you will be more likely to achieve it. Your beliefs stares you in the face every time you look in the mirror. You can’t run from them you can only work on changing them. Your beliefs create your experience in life. Change your beliefs and your life will change.
Of course I have a million more, but I figured three was enough for now. So remember life is so much bigger than you and I, Learn to silence the world to be successful and your belief system form your reality..
