Leadership does not only relate to the elite. I have been fortunate enough to have had a front row seat to see some of the best leaders at work. It has always amazed me how some people can have the same title, and work with the same people, but one is liked so much more than the other. What make them so different? Some people have natural leadership skills and some acquire them along the way. I once worked for a company that started out with 75 employees, and quickly grew to over 5,000 people in less than 3 years. Now that wasn’t the amazing part, the amazing part was the C.E.O. knew everyone’s name and would greet you every day by saying "Good Morning so and so” with a big smile on his face. He made you feel like you were part of the company. Even during big meetings he would say things like, "This is our company" when he could have easily said “this is my company” and it would have been the truth. The bottom line is; he made you feel like you was part of the team, and he was no better than you or I, even though he was the C.E.O. and his salary was more than some will make in a life time lol. He never made you feel that way. He possessed true leadership skills.
